The Data Capture functionality provides preconfigured XSLX files that let you capture and import the data. There are two ways to import data via the Data Capture functionality. You can either import data on a class-by-class basis or based upon business questions that provide answers to your most critical issues. Each business question has a graphic visualization that users can view to understand the IT portfolio. For example, you could capture data to answer a business question like What should we be focusing on or Who are our vendors.

To get started, you should first understand the class model in Alfabet FastLane as well as general recommendations for organizing and structuring your data capture activities.
