Add connection types

A connection type describes the mode of transfer used by a specific information flow to transfer business data between the two associated applications or their respective components. Users can specify the connection type for an information flow when they capture data about the company's information flows.

Preconfigured connection types include: Asynchronous, Synchronous, Other

You can keep the preconfigured values or delete them if they are not relevant for the connection type definition in your enterprise. You can also add new connection types that users will be able to select for users to select when they capture information flows. The name of the connection type will be displayed in the Connection Type field in the data workbench for information flows.

  1. In the navigation pane, expand Configuration > Reference Data.
  2. Click the Information Connections button and then click Connection Type to open the view.
  3. Create new connection types or delete existing ones as needed.
