A connection data format describes the data format used for the transfer of business data via a specific information flow. Users can specify the connection data format for an information flow when they capture data about the company's information flows.

Preconfigured connection data formats include: ASCII, Binary, CSV, IDoc, Other 

You can keep the preconfigured values or delete them if they are not relevant for the connection data format definition in your enterprise. You can also add new connection data formats that users will be able to select for users to select when they capture information flows. The name of the connection data format will be displayed in the Connection Data Format field in the data workbench for information flows.

1. In the navigation pane, expand Configuration > Reference Data.
2. Click the Information Connections button and then click Connection Data Format to open the view.
3. Create new connection data formats or delete existing ones as needed.
