Analyze the data: Who are our vendors?
The business question Who are our vendors? provides an overview of your vendors and how they impact the components they provide as well as the indirect impact to the applications that use them and the business capabilities supported by those applications. The information helps you to understand which vendors support mission-critical business capabilities, which vendors support a large number of applications, and which vendors support IT capabilities or are associated with components that are no longer maintained. This enables you to understand potential risks to the technology architecture and develop a vendor strategy to decrease risk to your company's IT infrastructure.

The following analytics are available to help you understand and manage your vendor portfolio. By assessing the details of the following views, you can consider whether additional vendors might be introduced to distribute risk across more vendors or whether vendors could be consolidated in order to benefit from preferential rates.
Components Provided by Top Ten Vendors: Shows the top 10 vendors and the components they provide. These vendors provide the most components in your company. Point to a doughnut slice to view a tooltip with the number of components that the vendor provides.
Applications Provided by Top Ten Vendors: Shows the top 10 vendors and the applications using components that the vendor provides. These vendors support the most applications in your company. Applications with with a retired object state are ignored. This enables you to understand whether there is too much reliance on one vendor and whether this puts applications at risk.
Vendors Providing End-of-Life Components: Shows the vendors that support components that are no longer used in the company. This enables you to consider which components need to be replaced or updated to a new version from same vendor, or where to substitute components from another vendor.
Business Critical Vendors: Shows all vendors that provide components used by applications to provide mission-critical business capabilities.
Vendors Supporting IT Capabilities: Shows vendors and the IT capabilities they support. This helps you understand when vendors have the most impact on the technology portfolio.
