1. Create a new virtual alias: During this step, you create a virtual copy for the native API and specify its endpoints and resources. For procedures, see Creating a New Virtual Alias.

2. Configure the policy actions: During this step, you select a sequence of actions to execute on the messages that are sent to and received from the native API through the gateway; also you assign values to the input parameters for the individual actions. For procedures, see Assigning Actions to a Virtual API.

3. Virtualize the API: During this step, you simply virtualize (that is create a virtual copy for the native API).
