Applying a Filter to a Child Object
Filtering is a way to search for and display only the records that meet certain conditions or criteria. To filter records, you must have a minimum of read privileges for the object. (User privileges are configured by the administrator. For information about user privileges, see Administering webMethods OneData.)
You can perform basic and advanced searches on records:
*Basic filter: Search for records that contain specified values (exact or partial matches).
*Advanced filter: Search for records that contain, exclude, or fall within a range of values. If advanced filtering is enabled in the column definition, you can use the Advanced Filter icon on the Shortcut toolbar to toggle between the basic or advanced filter view, or you can define your filter preferences to automatically display advanced filtering options when available for a column.
Note: The option to allow advanced filtering (searching) in a column is determined by the Enable Advanced Filtering setting in the column-level structure definition.
*Child Filtering: Choose which child objects to include when filtering the parent object.
Note: This feature is not supported on SQL servers.
An object can be defined to automatically filter records using an implicit filter. OneData automatically applies implicit filters whenever the object is selected. You can override the filter in the Manage Data screens by clearing the filter and entering new criteria. For more information on setting implicit filters in the object definition, see Implementing webMethods OneData.
