Editing a Rule Filter
You can edit an existing rule filter to refine or enhance it. Changes to a rule filter may affect other rules associated with the filter.
Note:
Changes to an existing rule filter that is currently in use will purge the system of all related rule instances and their violations.
*To edit a rule filter
1. In My webMethods:
Navigate > Applications > Administration > Analytics > Rules > Rule Filters
2. Click the name of the rule filter, or click Edit in the Edit column.
Optimize displays the Add/Edit Rule Filter page.
3. Edit the details of the rule filter.
The following table describes the actions that you can perform on the Rule Filter Information panel.
If you want to
Do this
Rename the rule filter.
Select the name of the rule filter in the Filter Name field and type a new name, or modify the existing name.
Change the rule filter description
Select the description in the Description field and type a new description, or modify the existing description.
The following table describes the actions that you can perform on the Dimension Definitions panel.
If you want to
Do this
Remove a dimension definition from the rule filter.
Select the check box beside the dimension definition name and click Delete.
Add, remove, or search for dimensions in a dimension definition associated with the rule filter.
Perform the following:
a. In the Dimension Definitions list, click the dimension definition name or click Edit beside the dimension definition name to activate the Add Dimension Instances dialog.
b. Do one or more of the following on the Add Dimension Instances dialog:
*Click the Select All Pages button to include all dimensions, across all pages, in the dimension definition. If you want to select all dimensions on the displayed page, press CTRL + A.
*Click the Deselect All Pages to exclude all dimensions, across all pages, in the dimension definition.
*The Add Dimension Instances dialog includes a standard keyword search feature that enables you to locate dimensions. See Creating a Rule Filter for more information on using this search function.
c. Click Add to save changes to the dimension definition and close the Add Dimension Instances dialog, or click Cancel to close without saving.
The dimension definition is updated with the specified dimensions, and the Add/Edit Rule Filters page is displayed.
4. Click Save to save the rule filter with your changes and return to the Rule Filters page or the Edit Rule Expression page, or click Cancel to close the Add/Edit Rule Filter page without saving.
