Adabas Databases

This document introduces the Adabas Manager database services, i.e., listing databases, registering and unregistering mainframe databases, adding and existing or creating a new open systems database, and selection of databases.

Adabas Manager can administer the following databases:

Mainframe

The remote databases must be UES-enabled and accessible by Entire Net-Work Client and Entire Net-Work Administration. Target databases on different mainframe servers are displayed under the same managed host in the System Management Hub environment independently of their operating system.

A maximum of 512 mainframe databases can be registered with Adabas Manager.

Open Systems

Only local open systems databases are displayed under the same managed host. For open systems databases with different operating systems, System Management Hub and Adabas Manager must be installed on all hosts holding the databases:

  1. Install System Management Hub and Adabas Manager on the hosts.

  2. Add the host by right-clicking Managed Hosts and choosing Add Host in the dropdown menu.

Open systems databases are always displayed under their host (they cannot be grouped under a single Adabas Databases entry).
