Workflow Triggering Modes
You can define how workflow is triggered for record changes in either of the following ways:
*Auto Mode. Default mode. The workflow process is triggered immediately when the initiator saves the workflow request.
*Creator-Initiated Mode. The initiator of the record change is the first level approver in the workflow and must approve changes to the record to trigger the next level of workflow. The advantage to this mode is that it allows the initiator to save intermediate changes to the record. It also gives the initiator the option to review changes before submitting them for supervisor approval.
