In addition to having associations with other objects,
Assets and Registry Objects can have links to resources that are managed outside the registry, for example, to files in the
CentraSite repository or on a WebDAV server. A link to an external resource is represented by the resource's URL, which is stored in the registry. A registry object may have any number of external links.
The external links of a registry object are shown on the
External Links in the
Details Editor. The registry objects to which a folder or file is connected via an external link are shown on the
Attached To in the
CentraSite Details editor.
When you define a new object type or modify an existing one, you can specify
Attributes which map to external links you want to make visible for the object type. An attribute that represents an external link can be displayed in the set of
Attributes that is visible for a registry object in the
CentraSite Details editor.
