SMA Version 2.1 requires the following Software AG products:
Natural Version 4.1.x or above
Adabas Version 7.1.x or above
The SMA Version 2.1.2 documentation is provided in HTML format for electronic distribution. The documentation has been structured for optimal online access including extensive use of hyperlinks to related topics. In addition, a full text search feature is available. All documents are also available as PDF files for selective printing at a user site.

An additional dataset, SMAnnn.JOBS, is provided.

The SMA system file must be migrated from SMA Version 1.3.1 or 2.1.1 to 2.1.2, and the data on the system file must be converted accordingly.

The following enhancements are provided with this release:
All SMA function and selection screens have been completely revised.
Selection and sort facilities have been enhanced for full compliance with Natural conventions.

Usage of Natural system variables (#N-…..# ) within a JCL skeleton is now possible.

It is possible to submit a job to generate Installation jobs in batch
mode using the online command JB
. The generated jobs
can also be saved as a member.
The online command JB
is not valid for
BS2000.

The line command EX
can be used to export
JCL skeletons, jobs, reports, and zaps to a PC.
It is now possible to page up and down within a report.
It is now possible to submit jobs in any sequence (warning message will be issued).
User JCL skeletons can now be selected using a PF key.
The Help function is now field oriented and available in both English and German.
Direct access to functions using line commands is now provided.

With the next major or minor version of SMA (SMA Version 3.1 or SMA Version 2.2), support for German-language line commands will be discontinued. German-language menus will still be provided.
It is therefore recommended to use English-language line commands to invoke SMA functions.
Note:
English line commands are also valid when using German-language
menus.
