Adabas Cluster 7.1.1 | Maintenance | Updating | How to Apply a Fix

How to Apply a Fix
Database and cluster-specific program changes are provided in an Adabas fix. To ensure that availability is not affected, we recommend that you perform the following steps for each node of the cluster.
1. Check cluster health (all nodes in status SYNCED).
2. Shutdown node (use a secondary node at the beginning).
In case of shutting down the primary node, one of the remaining nodes takes over the responsibility as the new primary. A Primary Node Switch can also be triggered manually. For more information, see Trigger Primary Node Switch).
3. Backup database (optional).
4. Apply fix.
Make sure that the gcache.size provider option is dimensioned on all nodes before you perform the fix. Thus, it can deploy IST after the expected duration of the applied correction. Otherwise, a SST is required when rejoining the cluster.
5. Restart node (rejoin the cluster).
All changes in the cluster are recorded as writeset and transferred to the restarting node using Incremental State Transfer (IST).
Note:
Please note the instructions in the corresponding README file that comes with the fix.
