Initialize a My webMethods Server Server Instance
The initializing process might take several hours.
1. If you customized portlet permissions in the old My webMethods Server installation and want to retain the same permissions after migration, go to the 99_Software AG_directory\profiles\instance_name\configuration directory, open the custom_wrapper.conf file, and add this parameter to the Java Additional Parameters section:
wrapper.java.additional.number=-DxmlImport.overwrite.permissions=FALSE
2. Initialize the My webMethods Server 9.9 server instance by going to the 9.9_Software AG_directory\MWS\bin directory and running this command:
mws.{bat|sh} -s instance_name init
The 9.9 components are deployed, and then the server instance shuts down automatically. Restart the server instance.
3. If the old and new My webMethods Server installations are on different machines, verify the host name for the new installation as follows:
a. Log on to a My webMethods Server 9.9 server instance as Administrator and go to the Administration > My webMethods> Cluster Settings > Advanced Web and Cluster Configuration for MWS page.
b. If the host name is not correct in the Host and MWS Front End URL field, update the host name.
c. Go to the Cluster Status and Control page and restart the server instance.
4. If you added the parameter in step 1 to the custom_wrapper.conf file, remove the parameter from the file.
5. Restart the server instance.
