Migrate Custom Changes, Data Directory, and License File

1. In release 9.9, the nserver.conf and nserverdaemon.conf files were combined into a single file named Server_Common.conf. If you made any custom changes to the nserver.conf or nserverdaemon.conf file for an old server instance, make the same changes to the Server_Common.conf file for the corresponding 9.9 server instance. The Server_Common.conf file is stored in the 9.9_Software AG_directory/UniversalMessaging/server/umserver/bin directory. The nserver.conf and nserverdaemon.conf files are stored in the old_Software AG_directory/nirvana/server/umserver/bin directory.

2. If the data directory for an old server instance was not in the default location specified in the Software AG Installer, the migration utility did not migrate the data directory. Copy the data directory from the old server instance to the 9.9 server instance. The default location for the data directory is the 9.9_Software AG_directory\UniversalMessaging\server\instance_name\data directory. Then edit the file to point to the new server instance’s Server_Common.conf file in that directory.

3. If the license file for an old server instance was modified or moved from the default location it was placed in by the Software AG Installer, the migration utility did not migrate the license file. Copy the license file from the old server instance to the 9.9 server instance. The default location for the license file is the 9.9_Software AG_directory\UniversalMessaging\server\instance_name directory. Then edit the file to point to the new server instance’s Server_Common.conf file in that directory.
