The next version of ApplinX is planned to be based on Java 1.8, which no longer supports the JDBC-ODBC bridge functionality that allowed connecting to Access databases and ODBC data sources. This change will affect the following functionality:
From the next version, external databases will no longer be supported as repositories.
Currently (ApplinX 9.7 and below) MS Access (MDB) and ODBC (Microsoft) are supported without having to install additional drivers ("out-of-the-box"). From version 9.8, this will no longer be the case: you will need to install and configure additional drivers in order to use these database types with ApplinX.
