Use a Proxy
You can identify a proxy to use with Update Manager by specifying the parameters below on the Update Manager startup command:
[-proxyHost host -proxyPort port -proxyProtocol {HTTP|SOCKS}
[-proxyUsername name] [-proxyPassword password]] [-useSSL]
You can also specify these parameters after you start Update Manager in either GUI or command line mode.
Note: | The proxy password is encrypted, but the encryption is not the strongest possible encryption. |
In all cases, Update Manager stores the parameters values so you do not have to specify them next time you use Update Manager. If you later want to stop using the proxy, go to the Software AG directory\UpdateManager\conf directory and delete the proxy.cnf file.
Note: | Do not try to change proxy parameter values by editing the proxy.cnf file. The values can only be changed by specifying them on the startup command, in GUI mode, or in command line mode. |
