CentraSite Documentation : Working with the CentraSite Business UI : OData Service Management : Viewing or Modifying Details of an OData Service
Viewing or Modifying Details of an OData Service
In this task you view or modify the information stored for an OData service. You can view the various components, for example, action and function imports, entity sets, and singletons, in the OData Resources profile.
To view or modify the details stored for an OData service
1. Display the list of OData services (see Viewing the List of OData Services for details).
2. In the displayed list, click the link of the OData service whose details you want to view. This shows the details of the OData service.
The details include:
*Basic Information: The OData service’s basic information (asset type, version number, last updated date, owning organization, owning user, and a general description of the OData service). You can view a tooltip text for some of the attributes, for example, Owner, Organization, by moving the cursor over the info icon. The tooltip text gives a summary of the attribute's purpose. The tooltip text shown is the content of the attribute's Name and Description fields as defined in the type definition for OData service.
*Technical Details: Technical information about this OData service. The technical details include the Base URL which denotes the service URL of the OData service, and the OData version (supported versions, 2.0 and 4.0). However, if the OData service is imported using a metadata document, the Base URL is represented as an empty field.
*OData Resources: The REST Resources that have been derived from importing an OData service. The OData Resources profile lists all the first level resources. Expanding the resource’s node shows the resource path, the entity type, the resource parameters, the HTTP methods and the outgoing navigation properties. You can traverse through these navigation properties until you reach a navigation property that is already defined in the resource path.
*Specifications: An external link to the OData service's metadata document that is stored in the repository.
3. If you want to modify the OData service’s details that are displayed in the Basic Information section, click the Edit icon. You can then enter new values for the service’s fields.
4. Click Save to store the recent changes to the OData service.
5. If you want to make changes related to the Technical Details or the OData Resources profile of the service, note that you cannot manually edit the information included in these sections. To update the Technical Details or the OData Resources profile of an OData service, you must update the OData metadata document and upload it to the OData service using the Attach Document action. If you need procedures for this step, follow the instructions in Attaching a Document to an Asset.
