Add a Converter to a Control
Converters provide a way to format objects for presentation to the user for reading and modification, or to represent the object for persistence in the application. You can apply converters to input or output controls. The CAF Core > Converter node of the Palette view contains the standard JavaServer Faces converters and those included in the Composite Application Framework. Some converters have properties that you can modify on the Properties view. For more information about the available converters, see the webMethods CAF Tag Library Reference.
To add a converter to a control
1. In the UI Development perspective with a Composite Application Framework view open in the design canvas, locate the input or output control to change.
2. Click the Palette view, expand the Converter node, and select the converter to use with the control.
3. In the Palette view, expand CAF Core > Converter, and select the converter to use with the control.
4. Drag the converter to the design canvas and drop it on the control.
If the overlay is visible on the cursor, you cannot drop the converter.
5. In the design canvas, select the control with the converter, click the Properties view, and then click the Conversion tab.
6. (Optional) On the Conversion tab, specify the values for the converter.
