Guidelines for Multiple My webMethods Server Instances
You can run multiple instances of
My webMethods Server on the same machine, but each server instance must have its own external resources. Running multiple server instances on the same machine is not the same as clustering. For more information about
My webMethods Server clustering, see
My webMethods Server Clustering. The following guidelines apply to running two or more server instances on the same machine:
Each
My webMethods Server instance must have its own database; for a given database server, the following configuration entries must be unique among all
My webMethods Server instances that use the same database server:
Database user name
Database name or tablespace name
For
My webMethods Server instances running concurrently on the same machine, the following host/port number combinations, if used, must be unique among all servers:
HTTP port. The default is 8585.
HTTPS port (if used).
Java Management Extensions (JMX) port. The default is 5002.
