Disabling Facelets Functionality for New Projects and Views
By default, the New Portlet Application, New Web Application, New Portlet View, and New Web Application View wizards create projects and views that conform to the JSF Facelets standard. View files are implemented as .xhtml files. This behavior is defined by the UI Development preference Prefer JSF 2.x xhtml Facelet Templates for New Pages.
You can disable this preference, in which case project and view files created with the wizards will not support the Facelets standard, and VDL files will be created as .view files structured with a proprietary Software AG XML schema. You can still migrate these projects and view files to Facelets format later on. For more information, see Migrating CAF Projects and .view Files to JSF Facelets Format.
You can also override the preference setting when you create a view file. For more information, see:
*Adding a View to a Portlet
*Adding a View to a Web Application
Important:
You can still create and work with Facelets projects and views even when this preference is disabled. The preference controls only the default behavior for the creation of new projects and views with the CAF wizards. CAF supports the Facelets standard regardless of this preference setting.
To disable Facelets support for new projects and view files
1. In Designer: Window > Preferences.
2. In the preferences tree, expand the Software AG node and click UI Development.
3. To disable Facelets support for new projects and views, clear the Prefer JSF 2.x xhtml Facelet Templates for New Pages check box.
*If you want to enable Facelets support at a later time, you can select the Prefer JSF 2.x xhtml Facelet Templates for New Pages check box. This is the default setting for this preference.
4. Click Apply to apply your changes and continue with other preference settings, or click OK to apply the changes and close the Preferences dialog box.
