Editing a Published or Personal Report Using Free-Hand SQL
If you using the free-hand method to generate the report query, you should note the properties of about the data for which you are building a report before starting this procedure. Lookups cannot be performed while entering the SQL query. This option is for advanced users who are familiar with SQL and have experience creating queries.
* To edit a report using the free-hand option
1. On the Menu toolbar, access the appropriate reporting menu for the report type:
*To edit a published report, click Manage > Publish Reports.
*To edit a personal report, click View > Reports > My Reports.
2. Navigate to the report that you want to edit and select it.
3. Click Edit Report to access the existing report query details.
4. Modify the report properties, using the following table as a guide:
Report Definition Field
Field Description
Report Name
The name of the report. The report name displays as the title in the report and in the Published Reports screen.
Description
The description that identifies properties of the report.
Header
The text that displays at the top of every page in the report.
Footer
The text that displays at the bottom of every page in the report.
SQL Statement
Specify the objects, columns, sort order, and...
Encoding
Indicates the type of encoding to use for the report.
Disable HTML Evaluation
Indicates whether OneData displays or applies HTML tags:
*Selected. Displays HTML tags (<i>Product Name</i>).
*Not selected. Applies HTML tags (Product Name).
Execution Mode
Specify whether to run, save, or save and run the report.
Prompted Report
Select Prompted Report to have OneData request user input before generating the report. Prompts can only be generated for the following relational operators: =, <, >, <=, >=, <>. If the prompted data field is a date, the date input must adhere to the format specified in the user preferences (Personalize > Preferences).
5. Click Finish.
6. Export the data to Excel by clicking Export to Excel. If the number of records exceeds the maximum value defined in the property onedata.job.attachmentmaxrecordcount, OneData provides a warning and the option to continue or stop the export.
