Conceptual Objects
In OneData, you can create conceptual constructs of related tables to represent the type of relationship between the data objects. You can create four types of data relationships: conceptual, self recursive, network recursive, and object supertype subtype. The procedures for working with conceptual objects vary according to how the object is configured to display. This chapter describes how to work with conceptual objects configured to display in Nova mode. For more information about display modes, see OneData Object Display Modes.
This chapter describes how to insert, edit, view, and delete records in related objects using the conceptual or relational object. In Nova mode, the conceptual object can be configured to visually represent the hierarchy or object relationship in one of three ways.
*Tree View—Displays a user-friendly tree for ease of navigation.
*Advanced Parent-Child View—Displays object hierarchy while viewing and editing records.
The procedures for working with the conceptual object vary slightly based on how the object is configured to display.
In Nova mode, conceptual and relational objects also visually represent the relationships between objects through a toggle traversal mode:
*Single path traversal mode—Displays only a single the parent record and all related child objects. (This is the only display mode for advanced parent child view.)
*Multiple path traversal—Displays the entire object hierarchy, including “sibling” objects, or objects at the same level as the parent node. Multiple path traversal gives more visibility and provides ease of comparison in the hierarchy.
OneData uses the value set in the Number of Rows property to determine how many records to display on a single page. However, for leveled hierarchy objects in tree view, OneData limits the number of records per page to 50, regardless of the value of the Number of Rows property. For Network recursive objects displayed in the tree view, the you can use the property onedata.tree.treen odecount in the onedata.properties file to set the number of records to display. The default value of onedata.tree.treenodecount is 100.
