Performing a Search and Replace in Conceptual Objects
The search and replace feature allows you to update values in several records simultaneously, replacing a specified value in a column with a different value. This feature is only available for data types char and varchar.
Use the following procedure to perform a search and replace update for self recursive, network recursive, and supertype conceptual objects defined to display tree view or advanced parent-child view.
* To perform a search and replace update on records
1. On the Menu toolbar, click Manage > Manage Data.
2. Navigate to the object that you want to edit and select it.
3. Display the records associated with the object, doing one of the following:
*Click the Values tab to display all the records associated with the object.
*Enter filtering criteria to display only records that match specific values. Click Next.
4. Select the records in which to perform the search and replace, for the view mode:
*In tree view, select the top-level record in the left navigation panel.
*In advanced-tree view, select the check boxes corresponding to the records you want to edit.
5. Click Edit > Search & Replace.
6. Select the column in which to search for matching values, and complete the remaining fields.
*To perform a search that is case sensitive, select Case Sensitive.
*To update both child and parent records, select Include Sub Levels.
7. Click Save.
OneData updates records that match the criteria specified and returns to the results screen, indicating the number of records that were updated.
