Editing Records in Conceptual Objects
Because conceptual objects are virtual representations of related objects, they effectively sit at the top of an object hierarchy. Therefore, you can use the conceptual object to edit the records of any object that is a part of the conceptual object relationship, including conceptual, network recursive, self recursive conceptual and supertype conceptual objects.
Objects configured to display in tree view visually present related parent-child records in a nested tree structure. In advanced parent-child view, however, related records display in a flat table view so that the hierarchy is not visually presented.
* To edit records in the (top-level) conceptual object
1. On the Menu toolbar, click Manage > Manage Data.
2. Navigate to the object that you want to edit and select it.
3. Display the records associated with the object, doing one of the following:
*Click Values to display all the records associated with the object.
*Enter filtering criteria to display only records that match specific values and click Next.
Note: Click Save Filter to save this filter for future use.
4. Edit the record as follows based on how the object is configured to display:
*In tree view: Navigate to the record by expanding the hierarchy displayed in the left panel and click the Edit icon for the corresponding record.
*In advanced parent-child view: Click the Edit icon for the corresponding record in the table view.
5. Edit the values as needed, adding audit comments for historic purposes.
Note: You can change the record’s relationship, for example, the parent record, by modifying the relevant relationship field.
6. Click Save.
