Creating An Object By Importing Model From ARIS AML

Mapping Data Types In ARIS AML File To OneData Data Types
You can use this feature to convert logical data models into physical models, as well as OneData data objects. The functionality is generic in such a way that it works out of a common XML format in order to support information from different sources of logical models. The source includes the ARIS AML files exported from ARIS Architect 7.1.
You can specify XSLT (XSL Transformation) files to convert the ARIS AML file or other model files to the common XML format processed by OneData. Additionally, to provide closer integration between OneData and ARIS, there is an XSLT template file provided which converts the ARIS AML files generated for ARIS Architect model type IE Data Model. You can select this template to avoid manually creating XSLT files.
The next screen displays the list of tables available in the file. Select one or more tables from the list and execute the import. This creates one or more OneData data objects with the associated structure in the STG and PRD schemas, audit columns, and triggers. You can also select the destination folder in which to create the objects by clicking on the link Select Folder. Once the import is done, a log file is generated that lists the objects, columns, and constraints that have been created from the input file.
The information processed during import model includes column information and constraint information for primary keys and foreign keys. To help the user manually create the foreign key, the foreign key relationship information between tables is transferred as part of the data object definition visible in the Definition tab in Define > Objects for ARIS AML files.
Foreign key constraints are ignored in the following scenarios:
*If the foreign key constraints in the input file results in a cyclic relation, one of the foreign keys will be ignored.
*If the table that contains the foreign key does not exist in OneData or in the input XML.
*If the columns specified in the foreign key relation is not present in the related table.
The details of the same will be added to the log file.
The column data types supported are - Numeric, Varchar, Date, TimeStamp, Char and Database Sequence.
For more information about the mapping between the values in OneData XML and ARIS AML, see OneData XML And ARIS AML Mapping.
* To create an object in OneData from ARIS AML file as per available XSLT File
1. On the Menu toolbar, click Define > Structures > Import Model.
2. Select the files/template for these fields:
Note: You can either select the XSLT file or use pre-defined XSLT template.
Parameter
Description
Input XML File
Select the XML or AML file from which object(s) is to be created.
Input XSLT File (Optional)
Select the XSLT file to convert the XML or AML file to the common XML format.
XSLT Templates (Optional)
Select ARIS Template if the selected AML file has been generated for model type IE Data Model in ARIS Architect. Click View Template to view the structure.
3. Click Next to select the required object.
4. Move the required object from Available Objects to Selected Objects.
5. Click Import Data Objects to create the selected object.
