Working with Master Password Settings

Storing the Master Password in a File
Prompting for the Master Password at Server Initialization
This section describes how to use the configPassman.cnf file to change settings for the master password. See Working with Outbound Password Settings for instructions on using the configPassman.cnf file to change outbound password settings.
If you are not already familiar with the configPassman.cnf file, readAbout the configPassman.cnf File before proceeding.
Important: Determine your strategy for outbound password and master password behavior before you launch and configure your Integration Server the first time. If you change these settings after the Integration Server has been configured, the master password and outbound passwords can become out of sync.
By default, the master password is stored in the file config/empw.dat under the server instance’s home directory, but if you prefer, you can configure Integration Server to prompt for the master password at server initialization. The following sections describe how to tell Integration Server which method to use.
