Migration Framework 10.15 | Upgrading Software AG Products On Premises | Upgrade Optimize | Prepare the Old Installation

Prepare the Old Installation
1. Install the latest product fixes on the old Optimize, then start the old Optimize.
2. If you are going to reuse your old CCS environments by importing them into your new Optimize installation, you must first export them from the old Optimize installation. Open My webMethods and go to the Applications > Administration > System-Wide > Environments > Define Environments page. Select your CCS environments and click Export to save them to a local file.
3. Shut down the old installation.
If the product is running
Take this action...
As a Windows service
Shut down from the Windows Services window. Services are listed as Software AG product release.
As a Windows application
Shut down from the Windows start menu. Applications are listed as Software AG > Stop Servers > product .
On a UNIX system
Use the shut down instructions in the product documentation for your old release.
Note:
It is especially important to shut down all old Optimize instances (for example, Analytic Engines) that connect to database components you are going to migrate.
4. Upgrade from 10.7 or later: If you are going to use the migration utility, and your old and new Optimize installations are on different machines, create a ZIP file of the old product installation to use as the migration source.
a. On the old machine, open a command window or shell, go to the old_Software AG_directory/optimize/analysis/bin/migrate directory and run the command below. The command creates a ZIP file named optimize.zip in the same directory. Copy the ZIP file to any directory on the machine that hosts the new Analytic Engine.
ZIP-optimize.{bat|sh}
Important:
If using FTP to copy, use the binary file transfer mode\type. If you use another mode\type, the ZIP file might become corrupted.
b. On the old machine, open a command window or shell, go to the old_Software AG_directory/optimize/dataCollector/bin/migrate directory and run the command below. The command creates a ZIP file named dc.zip in the same directory. Copy the ZIP file to any directory on the machine that hosts the new Web Services Data Collector.
ZIP-dc.{bat|sh}
Important:
If using FTP to copy, use the binary file transfer mode\type. If you use another mode\type, the ZIP file might become corrupted.
