Configure Products, Update Host Names, Adjust Assets for Release Changes, Re-enable Auto-Startup
Perform the applicable tasks below.
*Configure your new product using instructions in the product documentation for the new release.
*If you installed the new product on a different machine than the old product:
*Update host names in the new product and in the product database tables.
*Specify the correct host names when you configure the new product and when you set up connections to other products.
*Make sure any absolute paths in the new configuration files point to valid locations, or change them to be correct for the new machine.
*If the machine has a different operating system or hardware, make sure your JVM settings are correct.
*Read the readme information from your old product release+1 up to and including the new product release. For example, if your old product release is 9.9, read the product readme information for product releases 9.10 through 10.11. Also read the readme information for the same releases of Software AG Infrastructure. Product readmes contain this information:
*Critical information and known and resolved issues for your product.
*Changes to product behavior, services, parameters, properties, and APIs. Such changes can include additions, changes, deprecations, and removals. This information is especially important because you might need to modify product files or assets after migration to accommodate product changes.
Readmes are available on the Software AG Documentation website.
*After installation, you might have set Windows services for the product to Manual, and disabled scripts that start UNIX daemons, to avoid automatically starting both old and new products. When your new environment is ready, after you stop running the old product and when you want to start running the new one, you can reset the Windows services to Automatic, and re-enable the UNIX scripts.
*After you have thoroughly tested your new environment, you can reclaim disk space.
*If you installed the new product on a new machine, you can reclaim disk space on the new machine by deleting the ZIP file containing the old installation and any files extracted from the ZIP file.
*You can reclaim space on the old machine by uninstalling the old product using the Software AG Uninstaller for the old release, or Command Central.
