Working with Attachments
Some tasks in your inbox may carry attached documents or other files. Depending on the permissions assigned to you, you can work with these files and add additional attachments to the task. Note that the implementation of attaching content described here is completely different from the functionality described in
Working with Content in Tasks.
In earlier versions of Designer and Task Engine, attachment support was provided by including an attachments panel to the task interface at design time. With version 8.0, general attachment support is provided by default on the task Comments tab; this implementation is considerably simpler and easier, and is recommended over the previous approach.
It is possible that users who work with tasks created with earlier versions will still encounter the attachments panel; therefore:
With the introduction of
webMethods Content Service Platform (CSP), it is also possible to include attachments consisting of a specific content document type stored in a CSP repository. The task developer can add this capability to the
Data View tab or to the Start page (if present). For more information, see
About Attachments from webMethods
Content Service Platform on the Data View Tab.
