Starting the Android Virtual Device (Emulator)
Note:  
If the Android emulator must access the Internet through a proxy server, you need to define proxy information. See Using the Android Emulator with a Proxy Server.
To start an Android virtual device
1. Launch the Android Virtual Device (AVD) Manager tool by using Android Studio.
a. If a project is opened in Android Studio, select Tools > Android > AVD Manager.
b. Otherwise launch the standalone SDK Manager via Configure > SDK Manager from the Android Studio launch screen, then select Launch Standalone SDK Manager.
The standalone SDK manager launches.
2. Select the virtual device you want to start.
3. Click Start.
