In OneData, you can permanently or logically delete records. A logical delete hides the record to users, but physically keeps the record in the database. A permanent delete, also known as a purge, permanently deletes the record from the database.

You can delete a record at any level of a hierarchy, but if you delete the parent, or top-level record, this deletes the entire hierarchy. That is, you will delete the parent and all associated child records.

Logically deleted records may be either purged or restored. Restore makes the record visible through the OneData user interface again. To restore a hierarchy, you must restore records in order of their structure, starting with the highest level parent record, and proceeding through the child levels until the record hierarchy is restored.
