Integration Server Administrator's Guide : Managing JDBC Pools : Managing Functional Alias Definitions : Assigning Connection Pools to Functional Aliases
Assigning Connection Pools to Functional Aliases
Integration Server Administrator provides functions that correspond to most database components. You direct each function to write to its database components by assigning the pool alias of the database to the functional alias.
Keep the following points in mind when assigning connection pools to functional aliases:
*The ISInternal functional alias must be configured to point to either the embedded IS Internal database or to the external RDBMS that Integration Server uses for persistent storage.
*Integration Server must have a JDBC connection pool that points to the My webMethods Server database component, and the CentralUsers function in Integration Server must point to that connection pool. For more information, see Requirements for Central User Management.
To assign a pool alias to a functional alias
1. Open Integration Server Administrator if it is not already open.
2. In the Navigation panel, select Settings > JDBC Pools.
3. In the Functional Alias Definitions area, for the functional alias you want to edit, click Edit in the Edit Function column.
4. In the Associated Pool Alias field, specify the connection pool that you want the functional alias to use.
5. If you want to use fail-fast mode with this functional alias definition, select Yes next to the Fail-Fast Mode Enabled option. If you do not want to use fail-fast mode with this functional alias definition, select No.
The Currently in Fail-Fast Mode? field indicates whether or not the JDBC functional alias definition is currently in fail-fast mode.
Note:
Fail-fast mode applies only to functional alias definitions that have an associated pool alias. For more information about fail-fast mode, see Using Fail-Fast Mode with a Functional Alias.
6. Click Save Settings.
Integration Server displays the Settings > JDBC Pools screen.
7. In the Functional Alias Definitions area, initialize the pool by clicking Restart Function > Restart in the column for the function.
8. Make sure Integration Server can connect to the database by clicking in the Test column for the function.
Integration Server Administrator displays a status line that indicates whether the connection to the database is successful. The status line is displayed at the top of the screen.
9. Repeat the previous steps for all function aliases to which you want to assign a connection pool.
10. If you created a connection pool for the My webMethods Server database component and pointed the CentralUsers function at it, go to the Settings > Resources screen and make sure the MWS SAML Resolver URL field is pointing to your My webMethods Server host and port.
11. Restart Integration Server.
