Terracotta enables products to create very large in-memory caches and share cached data with other products on the same network. Integration Server uses Terracotta for these purposes:

Integration Servers can share data using caches on the
Terracotta Server Array.
Service results can be saved in
Terracotta caches so
Integration Server can quickly retrieve the results for other client requests.

Integration Server acting as OAuth authorization servers maintain registered clients, scope definitions, access tokens, and refresh tokens in cache on the
Terracotta Server Array.

Integration Servers that support digest authentication maintain the generated nonces in caches on the
Terracotta Server Array.
