Example: Task Archiving Configuration
Task Engine uses a separate data source to archive task instance data. You configure Task Engine to connect to that data source on the Task Archiving Configuration page in My webMethods, and the data source details on the Data Source page in My webMethods. You can configure more than one data source for archiving and searching tasks.
For more information about how to work with data sources, see Administering My webMethods Server.
Note:
You must configure the data source by creating a TaskArchival component with the Database Component Configurator before you connect Task Engine to the data source.
*To configure task archiving in My webMethods
1. In My webMethods, navigate to Applications > Administration > Business > Tasks > Task Archiving > Task Archiving Configuration.
2. If not already enabled, select Enable Task Archiving to enable Task Engine to archive task instance data.
3. Under Archiving Datasource select one of the available data sources.
4. Optionally, select Delete task instances after archiving to enable Task Engine to delete the archived task instances from the target runtime.
Note:
You can not restore task instances from the archive after deleting them from the runtime.
5. Under Archiving Age, fill in the Years, Months, and Days to configure the task archiving age. Task Engine will archive instances that reach both the status specified below, and the age configured in this section. Task Engine starts The archiving age is calculated after a task instance reaches the archiving status.
6. Under Achiving Status, specify the status or statuses that task instances must reach to become eligible for archiving.
Available options are: Completed, Cancelled, Error.
After you configure the archiving conditions, you can trigger the archiving of all eligible tasks manually, or modify the default schedule rule for task archiving. For more information about triggering task archiving manually, see Triggering the Task Archiving Rule . For more information about modifying the default task schedule rule, see Modifying the Task Archiving Schedule.
