Component | Description |
Time range selection bar | Displays a time range that comprises all historical data for the selected KPI instances up to the current date and time. The units are appropriate for the time range (hours, days, months, etc.). |
Slider | Selects the time range displayed in the graph area. The time period shown within the slider displays in the graph area. |
Slide bar | Moving the slide bar changes the data shown in the graph area but does not change the length of the time period. For example, if you are displaying four hours of data, moving the slide bar lets you select another four-hour time period. Note: You can also change the data shown in the graph area by positioning the mouse pointer anywhere in the graph area and dragging. |
Grabbers | The diamond-shaped grabbers on each side of the slider let you grab the sides of the slider and drag them to change the time range of the data shown in the graph area. For example, if you use the grabbers to expand the slider from four hours to two days, two days of data display in the graph area. |
RANGE values | Clicking one of the ten RANGE values below the date selection bar changes the range of the data shown in the graph area and within the slider. The values are: 1 hour, 4 hours, 8 hours, 12 hours, 1 day, 1 week, 2 weeks, 1 month, 3 months, and max (the maximum time range). Each RANGE value displays the most recent data, regardless of the currently selected time range. For example, you are displaying data for a previous month and you click the 1 day RANGE value. The data for the most recent 24-hour period displays. |
Time range selected | Displays the time range for the data shown in the graph area. |
Performance line | The graph area displays a performance line for each selected KPI instance. If you move the mouse pointer horizontally across the graph area, the data point nearest the mouse pointer displays as a square on each KPI instance's performance line and the value of the data point displays beside the name of each KPI instance in the legend below the performance chart. If you select a KPI instance by clicking its performance line in the graph area or its name in the legend: The data scale values for the KPI instance display on the left and right sides of the graph area. The KPI instance's name, data value, and date/time in the legend are underlined. The events associated with the KPI instance display on the Event list. The events associated with the other KPI instances are removed from the Event list. For more information, see
Event Table. To un-select a KPI, click its performance line or name in the legend or click anywhere in the graph area. |
event flag | The graph area displays one or more event flags on the performance line of each KPI instance with events (rule violations). The event flags are the same color as the performance line to which they are attached. Each event flag covers a time period based on the time range shown in the graph area. If the time range in the graph area increases, the time period covered by each event flag also increases. When you change the time range in the graph area, you change the time period covered by the event flags. As the time range changes, events may move from one event flag to another. For more information, see
Event Display. If you click an event flag, the description of each event represented by the event flag as well as the date and time when each event occurred display on the Event list. For more information, see
Event Table. |
Time axis | Displays time scale values for the selected time range. Note: To determine the display interval for data values shown in the graph area, check the times of two consecutive data values. For more information about display intervals, see KPI Data Display. |
Data value axis | If you click a KPI instance's performance line, or click the KPI instance name in the legend, the data scale values for the selected KPI instance display along the data value axis on both sides of the graph area. For more information, see
Scale and Units on the KPI Summary Page. |
Legend | Displays the names of the KPI instances shown in the graph area in the order they were selected. Beside the name of each KPI instance, the currently selected data point's value, unit of measure, and date/time are displayed. You select the current data points for the KPI instances with the mouse pointer. As you move the mouse pointer within the graph area, Optimize selects each KPI instance's data point at the mouse pointer's position along the time axis. When KPI instances are first displayed in the graph area and also when no data value is selected, the legend shows the names of the KPI instances without any values, units of measure, or times. |
