Viewing a History of Rule Violations
After you view details about a rule violation on the Rule Detail page, you can view the history of that rule to see how many times the rule was violated during a specified time period. You can use this information to help you determine patterns in the occurrence of rule violations and whether you can make improvements to reduce the number of violations in the future.
*To view a history of rule violations
1. On the Recent Rule Violations panel on the Rule Detail page, click View History.
Optimize displays the Rule History page.
The following table describes the information on the Rule History page.

Description
Rule Information
Displays the name of the rule, a short description of the rule, the rule's status (that is, whether the rule was violated), and the date and time since the rule has been in that status.
Histogram for Rule
Displays a histogram depicting the number of times the rule was violated each day within the last 90 days.
Filter
Sets the date and time range for the Rule Violations for Date Range display. Allows you to specify the start and end times for display.
Rule Violations for Date Range
Displays the date and time the rule violation occurred for the selected date and time range specified in the Filter panel. Also displays the number of continuous intervals the rule has been in violation. If there is a break in the collection of violations, such as a Analytic Engine shutdown, then the table will show separate violations. This section contains multiple rows if a rule was violated more than once within the specified date range.
2. Perform one of the possible actions.
The following table describes the actions that you can perform on the Rule History page.
If you want to
Do this
Display details about the rule violations for a particular day
Rest the mouse pointer over the bar corresponding to that day in the histogram.
Show historical data for a different date range
In the Filter panel, complete the Start Date, End Date, and Time boxes and then click Go.
Show historical data for a specific day in the histogram
Click any bar on the histogram.
The Rule Violations for Date Range panel is re-displayed with the data for that day.
