Enable a rule or a rule instance | Click Disabled in the Enabled column for the rule. The icon changes to Enabled. You can enable all rules at once by clicking and choosing Select All from the displayed menu and then clicking the Enable button. Note: Changing the enable status of a rule does not always alter the enable setting of its rule instances. For example, if a rule instance has been enabled, disabling the rule will disable the rule instance, but will not change the rule instance's setting. Hence, when the rule is re-enabled, the rule instance setting will prevent the rule instance from being enabled. |
Disable a rule or a rule instance | Click Enabled in the Enabled column for the rule. The icon changes to . You can disable all rules at once by clicking and choosing Select All from the displayed menu and then clicking the Disable button. Note: If you disable a rule that has a current violation against it, Optimize resets the rule so that it is no longer in violation. |
View attribute settings for rules | Note the information displayed in the Type and Sticky columns. You can also determine whether a rule violation has occurred by the icon displayed in the Status column. See
Viewing the Rule List for more information. |
Edit a rule | Click the edit icon () in the Action column for the rule. CAUTION: If you edit a rule definition, all rule instances associated with that rule are deleted from the system. If you edit a rule, you can populate the system with updated historical information based on your edit using the icon as described below. |
Generate Rule Violations | Click the icon to generate historical rule violations for a rule. If you have edited a rule, when you click this button, Optimize reevaluates all historical system data and generates rule violations according to the revised rule definition. This process is known as rule back population. Note: Rule back population does not wok for rules defined on standard deviation. |
Copy a rule | Click the copy icon () in the Action column for the rule. The copied rule name is appended with -COPY. |
Delete a rule | Select the check box to the left of the rule and then click Delete. Important: Deleting a rule removes all current and historical rule instances associated with that rule. |
Export the list of rules to a *.csv (comma separated value) file | Click Export Table. For more information about exporting table data, see Working with My webMethods. |
