When you define the rule's expressions, you identify the type of data to which to apply the rule. You can select a rule filter to limit the data to which the rule applies. For example, if your rule refers to Broker queue length, without a rule filter the rule will apply to all Brokers on all Broker Servers. To limit the scope of the rule to specific Brokers, you would specify a rule filter.
