Software AG Designer supports the creation of a proprietary type of application that is specific to tasks. Task applications must be created within an existing task application project.

Although you can extensively modify and customize the task applications you create, certain aspects of the task application are not available for changes. This is because of the proprietary nature of task applications and the need for them to interact with other webMethods product suite components.

Task applications are deployable only to Software AG runtimes. Supported runtimes are My webMethods Server and Integration Server.

For tasks, running on My webMethods Server, task applications can include a set of customizable task user interface portlets. After successful deployment both the task and its user interface run on the My webMethods Server runtime.
