Using the Design Canvas with Other Views
When designing a page in a Composite Application Framework Web or portlet application, you open the View Declaration Language (VDL) file for a view in the design canvas. If the current focus in Composite Application Framework is in the Solutions view, you can open a project VDL file while in the Solutions view. For more information, see Solutions View.
You add controls to the VDL file by selecting and dragging controls from the Palette view to the VDL file. For more information, see The Palette View.
You can modify properties associated with the VDL file by making changes in the Properties view. For more information, see Properties View.
As the set of controls in the view opened in the design canvas becomes more complex, you can use the Outline view to navigate between controls, drag controls from one location to another, and perform delete, cut, copy, paste, and undo operations. For more information, see Outline View.
You can review an HTML version of the view using the Preview tab of the design canvas.
