Workflow Report as Graphs
The Workflow Dashboard allows you to view the workflow report as graphs. The graphs are drawn with Updated Date (last updated date of the workflow transaction) against the Workflow Instances (number of workflow transactions).
You can view two graphs that are drawn in different perspectives:
New & Finished The New graph shows the number of workflow transactions that are new in the workflow pipeline. A workflow transaction is no more in New state, if any approver performs an action on it.
The Finished graph shows the workflow transactions that are completely rejected or completely approved. That is, the workflow transactions that are out of the workflow pipeline.
Approvals & Rejections The Approvals graph represents the number of workflow transactions that are completely approved.
The Rejections graph represents the number of workflow transactions that are completely rejected in the workflow. For a completely rejected workflow transaction, the number of transactions is always 2 (approver rejected and creator rejected).
If you place the cursor on a bubble point in the graph, it shows the number of transactions and its last updated date as tool tip.
For example, if a workflow pending item has three levels of approvals and it completes its approval process on 01/01/2012, the Finished graph shows Finished: 3 and Updated Date: 01/01/2012 and the Approvals graph shows Approvals: 3 and Updated Date: 01/01/2012. If an approver at any level rejects a workflow transaction, the creator of that workflow transaction receives the rejected item. If the creator also rejects this transaction (known as complete rejection), the Rejections graph shows Rejections: 2 and Updated Date: 01/01/2012.In this rejected case, the Finished graph also shows the 2 transactions as finished.
