Backup Users
OneData allows you to appoint a backup user for a designated time period, for example to assist with workload or to handle work while you are out of the office. During the effective period, change requests and workflow transactions are forwarded directly to the backup user. At the end of the effective period, OneData automatically redirects change management transactions to the default user.
The backup user can only be assigned to one user at a time. You can determine if the user is already designated as someone else’s backup user by selecting Is already a backup user?. For more information about workflow, see Managing Workflow.
*To designate a backup user
1. On the Menu toolbar, click Personalize > User Profile.
2. Click the Select A Value icon and select the user.
Note:
To verify if the user is already designated as a backup, click Is already a backup user?
3. Complete the effective dates in the From and To fields.
Note:
If you do not enter a date in the From field, OneData assigns the backup user immediately.
4. Enter your email address.
5. Click Save.
Note:
The Password for service layer security field is an encrypted string password that OneData generates for use in web services or APIs.
OneData automatically forwards workflow and email notifications to the backup user automatically during the effective dates.
