Customizing Standard Portlets
You can customize the display properties of the standard OneData portlets and add contents to the News and Welcome portlets. You cannot delete standard portlets, but you can hide them by clearing the selection of the Is Visible property.
*To customize standard portlets
1. On the Menu toolbar, click Administer > System > System Customizations > Home Page Maintenance.
2. Click the Edit icon corresponding to the portlet you want to edit.
3. Complete the portlet properties.
Property
Description
Name
The name of the portlet. For standard portlets, this property cannot be modified.
Is Visible
Indicates whether the portlet displays on the Home page. Clear the selection of this property to hide the portlet.
Title
Title of the portlet that displays to OneData users.
Show Title
Indicates whether to display Title to OneData users.
Show Border
Indicates whether to display a border around the title.
Horizontal Alignment
The text alignment in the portlet. Valid values are right, center, and left.
Vertical Alignment
The position of the text in the portlet. Valid values are top, center, and bottom.
Color
The color of the text. Specify a color name or HTML color code.
Background Color
The background color of the portlet. Specify a color name or HTML color code.
Font
The font of the text. Specify any valid font.
Font Size
The font size of text in the portlet.
Title Color
The color of the title. Specify a color name or HTML color code.
Title Background Color
The color of the title background. Specify a color name or HTML color code.
Title Font
The font of the title. Specify any valid font.
Title Font Size
The font size of the title.
Column Number
The horizontal position of the portlet if it is in a column. Specify a number.
Location
The layout of the portlet. Valid values are:
*1: Positions the portlet above any columns.
*2: Positions the portlet in a column.
*3: Positions the portlet below any columns.
Order
The order in which to display the portlet in relation to the other portlets. Specify a number.
From Data
The starting date during which the portlet is visible to users. This property is useful when there is news about the organization or the system, for example, when there is a scheduled outage.
To Date
The ending date during which the portlet is visible to users.
4. To add custom content to the News or Welcome portlet, complete one of the following steps:
*To add textual information. select Custom HTML, and add text in HTML format.
*To add a URL link. select Links, and specify the URL and the display name for the link.
Note:
To add more than one link, click Save. OneData adds a blank URL field each time you save the previous links.
5. Click Save.
6. To customize another portlet, click Home Page Maintenance in the Menu toolbar.
