Managing Custom Menus
You can create custom menus in OneData to add a link to functions that users may need to access frequently. For example, when in the Data Manager screens, a user may need a quick way to navigate to the company's website using the Menu toolbar, bypassing the OneData Home page.
Use the following procedure to create, edit, or copy custom menus.
*To manage custom menus
1. On the Menu toolbar, click Administer > System > System Customizations > Custom Menu.
2. Use the option that corresponds to the action you want to perform:
*To add a new menu item, click Add Custom Menu.
*To edit an existing menu, click the Edit icon for the corresponding menu.
*To clone an existing menu, click the Clone icon for the corresponding menu.
3. Complete the menu properties using the following table as a guideline:
Property
Description
Language
The language of the menu. Currently, English is the only language supported.
Edition Type
The edition. Options are as follows:
*Packaged (default)
*Template_11179
Parent Menu
The top level menu in which the new menu option is nested.
Sequence Order in Menu
The order in which to display the new menu option. For example, 2 adds the new menu option as the second menu option.
Menu Caption
The caption that displays for the menu option.
Menu Function
The type of menu function. The description displays in the Function tab when setting up the role.
Help Tip
The tooltip that displays when a user hovers over the command.
Link Type
Indicates where the new menu option displays:
*Toolbar. On the Menu toolbar.
*Command. On the Command toolbar.
*Page Level. Not Used.
*I. Not Used.
*G. Not Used.
*U. Not Used.
Security Mask
Indicates the security mask for the new menu option:
*New Window
*Last Level
*Show In Tree
*No Security Required
*User Defined
Display Mask
Indicates the display mask. The options are:
*Display In Work Area
*Display In Release Area
*Display Workflow If Work Area Exists
*Display Workflow If Work Area Not Exists
*Display Workflow If Release Area Exists
*Display Workflow If Release Area Not Exists
*Display Report If Work Area Exists
*Display Report If Work Area Not Exists
*Display Report If Release Area Exists
*Display Report If Release Area Not Exists
Hyper Link URL
Specify the hyperlink URL, if applicable.
4. Click Save.
The new menu option is available immediately.
