Linking Data to an Object
You can link data entered in an object to a data object or conceptual object using an ODTP tag. The ODTP tag is case sensitive but the object name is not. The syntax of the link is as follows: ODTP://ObjectName
OneData does not recognize spaces in hyperlinks. Replace spaces in an object name with the $ symbol. For example, the object, Brand Name, should be specified as ODTP://Brand$Name.
*To create an object link
1. Optionally, verify that the column in which you want to add a link is defined with the correct attributes. See Verifying the Column Definition.
2. On the Menu toolbar, click Manage > Manage Data or View > Browse.
3. Navigate to the object in which you want to add a link and select it.
4. Use the option that corresponds to the object’s display mode:
*In Default mode: click the Values tab.
*In Nova mode: click Apply Filter.
5. Click Insert > Insert or Insert > Insert Multiple.
6. In the relevant column, link to another object using the command, ODTP://<ObjectName>, where <objectname> is the object’s physical, logical, or display name.
Note:
The object name is not case sensitive. Replace any spaces in the object name with the $ symbol.
7. Click Save.
