When there is an existing approved version of data, a new version can be created. The new version can be either a major or a minor version. A major version is indicated by the integer in the version number. Minor versions are indicated by the decimal point in the version number.

For example, if Version 1 is the approved version, the new major version will be 2. Pending and the new minor version will be assigned 1.1 Pending.
