Creating a Database Update Export Job
A database update job allows you to directly update a remote database or to generate a SQL script file. You can download the script file from OneData or send the script file through email or FTP. The current release of OneData supports direct updates to Oracle, SQL Sever, DB/2, Teradata, and Sybase.
For a database update job, you must configure a connection to the remote database. If you want to write the script file to an FTP destination, you must set up an FTP location.
For more information about configuring remote databases and FTP locations, see Administering webMethods OneData.
* To create a database update job
1. On the Menu toolbar, click Data Interchange > Manage Export Job.
OneData displays the existing jobs.
2. Click Add a Job and complete the Database Update Job fields:
Enter a name for the job.
Enter a description of the job.
Job Type
Select Database Update Job.
Export Type
Default is selected by default. Select an export type for the job:
*Default: Identifies full load and incremental load.
*Resynchronize: Synchronizes the target database based on the OneData database.
*Delete and Reinsert: Deletes and re-inserts a record if it already exists in the target database.
When exporting data to Apache Hive, use only Default or Delete and Reinsert.
Select the notification option. For information about notification options, see Job Notification Options.

Run Database Update Script
Directly updates the remote database using a script file generated by the job.
This option is not supported for Apache Hive connections.
Create Script File
Creates a script file that can be used to update the remote database. The job sends this script file through email and/or to the FTP location. The job creates the script file only for the target databases that are in Oracle or SQL Server. For other databases, the script file is not generated.
E-mail Recipient(s): Enter the email addresses to receive the output file. Separate multiple emails with a comma.
File Name (Optional)
Enter a file name. OneData overwrites the file every time the job runs. If you omit a file name, OneData generates the file name and creates a new file every time the job runs.
FTP Destination
Select a FTP destination to which the job writes the output file.
5. Click Save.
6. Create job steps to specify the data that is included in the export job. For information about creating a job step, see Adding Job Steps.
