Adding an Operator and a Literal Value in Direct Edit Mode
You can add an operator and a literal value in direct edit mode.
* To add an operator and a literal value:
1. Open the event rule as described in Opening a Decision Entity.
2. Lock the event rule as described in Locking a Decision Entity.
3. Click the cell you want to modify.
4. Select an operator as specified in About Result Operators.
Important: Adding only an operator without entering a literal value results in a semantically invalid cell.
5. Enter a literal value in the input field as explained in the following table:
Note: The literal value must match the data type as specified in About Data Type Assignment.

Select true or false from the drop-down list.
Date
a. Click The calendar icon.
b. Select the date.
c. (Optional) Enter a time of day.
Note: The format and time zone of displayed date and time values can be configured in the My Profile settings. Business Rules only supports hours, minutes, and seconds.
Byte
Character
Double
Float
Integer
Long
Short
Type the literal value.
String
Type the literal value.
6. Press ENTER, or click anywhere in the Decision Entity Editor window to remove the focus from the cell.
