Using the User Interface to Configure webMethods OneData Properties
In addition to editing the onedata.properties file directly, you can also edit customizable properties from the Property Configuration screen. All properties appear as functional groupings in separate tabs that you can search across for the property you require.
Software AG recommends that you use the Property Configuration screen because manual editing of the onedata.properties file requires that you to restart the webMethods OneData server. Except in the case of a few properties, any change to properties in the Property Configuration screen does not require restart of the webMethods OneData server.
When you save changes to the properties, webMethods OneData creates a backup file with the date and timestamp appended in the Software AG_directory /profiles/ODE/temp directory. For example, onedata_bkup_2018_09_07_1405346_429000000.properties. webMethods OneData creates this copy of the original onedata.properties before processing the changes you committed. If your update fails for some reason, webMethods OneData rolls back to the backup file automatically. However, in some instances, the rollback could fail as well. In which case, rename the backup to onedata.properties, and restore it in the Software AG_directory /profiles/ODE/bin/onedata/config. If your update fails for some reason, webMethods OneData rolls back to the backup file automatically. However, in some instances, the rollback could also fail. In which case, rename the backup to onedata.properties, and restore it in Software AG_directory /profiles/ODE/bin/onedata/config.
Important:
Do not edit the file onedataProperty.xml file available in Software AG_directory /profiles/ODE/config. The appearance of the Property Configuration screen and webMethods OneData properties in this screen are controlled by onedataProperty.xml. Editing this file might cause unexpected results.
