Specifying the Quiesce Settings
Before you can start or restart an Integration Server in quiesce mode for the first time, you must specify the port through which the server will enter and exit quiesce mode. This port and the diagnostic port are the only ports that remain enabled when a server enters quiesce mode. You cannot disable the quiesce port or the diagnostic port when the server is in quiesce mode.
Note:
If you want Integration Server to work with a read-only database as part of a disaster recovery setup, select the following options on the Server > Quiesce page:
Disable Audit Logging
Disable System Tasks interacting with Database
Disable Alerts and Notifications
Disable Statistics Data Collector
It is also recommended to enter and exit the quiesce mode in the following manner:
Enter the quiesce mode, and then enable the database for read-only operations.
Enable the database for read-write operations, and then exit the quiesce mode.
In this mode Integration Server runs in a standby mode only and does not support transactions.
Note:
The quiesce port must reside in either the WmRoot or the WmPublic package. The port must also be enabled and have “allow” or “allow+” privilege. If the quiesce port is not specified, is suspended or disabled, or does not have “allow” or “allow+” privileges, Integration Server will not be able to enter quiesce mode.
To specify the quiesce port
1. Open the Integration Server Administrator if it is not already open.
2. Go to Server > Quiesce.
3. The Select Quiesce Port table lists the Current Quiesce Port. You can select a different port from the Select New Quiesce Port drop-down list.
Note:
This list does not include the diagnostic port or any HTTP/HTTPS ports created for Internal Servers in a webMethods Enterprise Gateway configuration.
4. In the Additional Tasks to Perform While Entering Quiesce Mode table, select the activities that you want to disable in the Quiesce mode:
Disable Audit Logging
Disable System Tasks interacting with Database
Disable Alerts and Notifications
Disable Statistics Data Collector
5. Click Save Changes.
A message at the top of the page confirms the Quiesce port and the settings. The selected quiesce settings are saved.
To quiesce the server, enter the Quiesce mode as described in
